In order to check and verify that system and component meet the specified requirements, HV cable / wire systems need be tested in many items. As per IEC standard, there are routine tests, sample tests, type tests, prequalificaton tests, and electrical tests after installation.

We offer related HV testing system of AC voltage / current, lightning impulse, heating cycle, ageing treatment, partial discharge, capacitance and tan delta, etc, for factory and field purpose.

Metal Tank type AC Resonant Test System with Variable Inductance

Voltage up to 600kV, current up to 80A.

TRST series AC resonant test systems use tank variable inductance HV reactors, which are situated in an enclosed and earthed metal tank, they are specially designed for high capacitance load, output current up to 80A.

These systems vary the reactor inductance to create resonant circuit with load capacitance in power frequency, when get in resonance, they output continuous AC voltage of power frequency (mainly 50 or 60Hz, matches feed-in mains) for testing.

IRST series AC resonant test systems use cylinder module type variable inductance HV reactors, which are of oil insulation and epoxy glass-fiber insulating shell, stackable module type allows higher output voltage, up to 2000kV.

These systems vary the reactor inductance to create resonant circuit with load capacitance in power frequency, when get in resonance, they output continuous AC voltage of power frequency (mainly 50 or 60Hz, matches feed-in mains) for testing.

MRST series mobile AC resonant test systems are specially designed for on-site AC voltage test of XLPE cables (electrical test after installation), all components are mounted on a standard-sized trailer with a container as control and feeding room, facilitate the transport to test sites, and can be set up quickly on site without help of additional crane or similar equipment.

These systems vary the frequency of power supply to create resonant circuit with load capacitance and fixed inductance of reactors, then output pure sine wave AC voltage for testing, typical test frequency range is 20~300Hz.

Cable Test Terminals
Cable Test Terminals

Cable test terminals are used in high voltage testing of extruded insulation power cables, including AC voltage test, PD test, impulse voltage test, tan delta test and other tests. They make testing fast and easy. Before high voltage can be applied the power cable need to be prepared and terminated in a special way order to control the electrical field distribution along the ends.

Deionized water terminals are mainly used for XLPE cables rated voltage 66kV to 550kV, and oil test terminals are available for lower voltage rating.

Cable Heat Cycle Test System
Heating Cycle Test System

Heat cycle test systems are mainly designed for thermal stability test on MV and HV power cables, these systems heat the conductors of cable samples by induced current method, using test loop as the secondary winding of high current transformer for inductive heating, heating current up to 10000A.

Whole system consists of test loop, simulation loop, reactive compensation unit, control and measure system. After inducing a current in the test object, the test system measures its temperature at several points by thermocouples, and current by current transformer or Rogowski coil.

The through core high current transformer is specially designed for convenient assembly of cable sample, one side is open type, facilitate the assembly and disassembly, and test object (cable sample) goes through the square hole of transformer directly, not electrical connect with transformer.
