    Description

    Metal tank type variable frequency HVAC resonant test systems are suited for on-site testing of any capacitive test objects with high capacitance, like XLPE cables, submarine cables, generators or capacitor banks. These metal tank rectors are realised in conventional tank-type design with oil-paper insulation and nature oil cooling, especially designed for on-site testing including frequent transportation and outdoor operation.

    Test systems and test object form a series resonant circuit by setting frequency of power supply, and generate a pure sinusoidal waveform of the test voltage in frequency range from 20Hz to 300Hz. According to resonance principle, the required input power is only 1/Q, and in case of cable failure, only minimal damage may occur due to the limited amount of energy stored in the test circuit.

    Normally these systems are designed to be mounted on trailer to facilitate transportation among different test sites, so as to be set up quickly on site without help of additional cranes or similar equipments.
